Financial Planning Associate Position

Life Planning Partners, Inc. is a nationally known boutique fee only financial planning firm located in Jacksonville, Florida. We are looking for a financial planning associate.

If the following fits your situation, we would love to talk with you about working with us:

  • You are early in your career in financial planning having finished the CFP® curriculum (and maybe even the exam) and want to expand your skills with comprehensive training in a top-notch firm.
  • You want client facing experience from the beginning and value a team approach in working with clients.
  • You love learning and translating what you learn into helping good people advance their financial goals.
  • You do not want to worry about “bringing business in the door” to advance your career.
  • You want a competitive salary with clear opportunities for advancement and potential ownership.
  • You want to work with a firm that values a joyful environment, a healthy work/life balance, and provides support for your continuing education.
  • You are good with a hybrid work environment – three days a week in the office and two days a week working from home.

Our ideal candidate would have the following characteristics:

  • They love helping people and value the impact of good financial planning.
  • They have excellent oral communication and writing skills.
  • They have good attention to detail but don’t get bogged down in the weeds.
  • They like a mix of computer-based work along with client facing work.
  • They appreciate a fun team environment and small company atmosphere.
  • They love learning and value constructive feedback.

What you will be doing:

  • You will be trained how to use eMoney to create cash flow projections, insurance reviews, and estate reviews. You will also learn the basics of tax planning.
  • You will work with clients to gather data needed to create their reviews.
  • You will help clients implement tasks that result from the reviews.
  • Our team works closely to keep us aligned with how the clients are doing, what is being done for clients, and how to manage the workflow through weekly meetings and ongoing check-ins.
  • You will actively participate in client meetings and be responsible for presenting your work, taking notes and following up on tasks.
  • As you grow in the position, you will be responsible for higher level problem solving.
  • We manage some business 401k plans – you will help with the 401k administration and educating new enrollees about their 401k plan.

Starting salary is $55,000 to $70,000 based on education and experience with opportunities for quick growth. Other benefits include 100% employer paid health insurance, four weeks of vacation, and one-week continuing education with a budget for continuing education. Matching retirement plan contributions begin at two years of employment. Dress code is super casual on days we do not have client meetings. Relocation assistance is available.
